What do I need to get started?
Most schools require these things:

  • You must be at least 18 years old or 21 years old for interstate employment.
  • You must have a valid driver's license at the time of application.
  • You must be able to pass a DOT physican and drug screen before admission.
  • You must be drug free and agree to drug testing.
  • You must be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to converse with the general public, to undertsand highway traffic signs in English, and to make legible entries on reports and records.

  • Is there anything else I need?
  • Make sure you can track all of your previous licenses (other names or states).
  • Be sure you can account for any DUI's, accidents and moving violations.
  • Most companies wilcheck your driving history, commercial or not, along with drug and criminal histories.
  • Make sure the school knows which state you will residing in. Some states don't allow third-party testing and the test fo that state may be totally different from the one you studied for.
